Every year, as the world turns its attention to the glamor of the Academy Awards, the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscar Party harnesses that spotlight for something urgent.
Behind the headlines and iconic performances is a deeper purpose that has driven this night for 34 years.
Why We Still Show Up
The HIV/AIDS crisis is not over - millions still lack access to prevention, treatment, and care. Stigma silences conversations and inequality continues to determine who lives and who is left behind.
The Oscar Party brings together artists, activists, philanthropists, and ally’s, to turn influence into awareness and funding for our work. Funds raised support lifesaving programs worldwide, including:
- Expanding access to HIV testing and treatment
- Supporting LGBTQ+ communities
- Breaking down the barriers that keep people from care

A Party That Fuels Progress
We cannot afford complacency.
“I began volunteering with the Elton John AIDS Foundation and twenty‑five years later, I’m still here — still fighting, still hopeful,” shared our CEO, Anne Aslett, on stage at our 2026 Oscar Party. “That hope was very recently fulfilled by something we’ve waited a long time for. An injection that protects you from HIV for up to 6 months — simple, life‑changing, as close as we’ve ever had to a vaccine.”
But the world is on track to reach less than 10% of people who need it.
This is a moment of extraordinary progress - closer than ever before. But funding is shrinking and too many are being left behind.
The Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscar Party is more than an event.
It’s a moment of action. A moment to ensure breakthroughs reach the people who need them most - women and girls, LGBTQ+ communities, young people.
